HELPFUL TIPS from Ms. Moss:
Wrangling those little paper Globe Theatres is definitely an exercise in complex problem-solving. Your final piece will be about the size of your fist. Some of you guys will rise to the challenge, while others will become frustrated and buckle.
To help those who struggle, I want you guys to watch the videos posted on this page.
I will allow students to view independently on their mobile devices as they get started.
The building process can be tedious, especially for those with big hands. I have scissors and glue available in the cubbyhole. Paperclips in the GREEN APPLE are also helpful.
To increase the fun and lessen frustration, I pose this assignment as a challenge for bonus points. I will give completion points to anyone who gives an earnest attempt. I expect there to be a lot of ugly theaters.
I am giving the top three most beautiful Globe builders a candy prize.
Again, try to keep the spirit of this activity light and fun.
Final tip: Color the pieces before you cut them out of the sheet and write your names of the bottom of the base piece.
Have fun!
